The Flo Room provides Design Services and Visual Strategy for the team.
Figured Woodworking
Peter's love of wood and craft has him creating amazing things. Almost all of the custom wood elements at the FloCondo were made possible by his figured woodworking - a true collaborator. He has also worked with Ostrow Design to create the wooden frames of our succulent wall pieces.
See one of his custom built tables featured in CALIFORNIA HOME + DESIGN
His work along with a few collaborative pieces with The Flo Room are currently available at the ACCI Gallery in Berkeley.
Atelier Le Roux
Glass maestra, Armelle Le Roux, has been a great mentor.
FloWear is occasionally fired in her kilns and her expertise is with me every step of the way. She is currently spearheading a team in the stained glass renovation of Grace Cathedral.Dana Zed Studio
Dana's fabulous studio and studied expertise have been essential to the quality and production of FloWear. We connected over our shared love of glass but her mediums stretch from digital, oil, acrylics, gouache to ceramics and then some. Check her out!
Flying Colors Inc. | Moss Sports
Track on a sampling of our award-winning work via this link to the Moss site. You'll see our expertise in experiential branded installations for events as well as permanent interiors.
As the Creative Director, I enjoy sourcing, working alongside and leading creatives in a team-based studio. We produced amazing work over the years for countless high profile events such as the Super Bowl (12) and the NHL Winter Classic (6), as well, unique interior applications such as the PAC-12 Network Offices in downtown San Francisco.
Being the design branch of the Moss Family, our team also engaged frequently in the "look" and production art of trade shows and exhibits for Moss Marketing. A key project was the launch of Moss Retail at Globalshop in 2012 for which we won the "Outstanding Booth" award from vmsd. (Visual Merchandising and Store Design)
My tenure as the Creative Director spanned 2009 through the 2016 event season. I also worked for Flying Colors, Inc from 1993 - 2004 as a Lead Designer, Art Director, Team Leader and Project Manager.
Flying Colors Inc. was acquired by Moss Inc. in November of 2010.
Ransley Design
A true partner, great designer, and super fun to work alongside, Ian has long been the workhorse behind the concept - developing and refining ideas into presentation and production ready art. For a broader view of the team-based work we have done together over the years at Flying Colors | Moss Sports, checkout the "Stadium Graphics" tab on his site.
You can also see a lot more of his personal work. He's a passionate designer who truly never stops creating.
Currently, The Flo Room has engaged his expertise to create the visual identity for IndigiPress, the first small press for native and indigenous authors dedicated solely to providing a platform for this community's contemporary experience. A very exciting project!
Project Color Corps
I joined the Corps in 2015 and have had the amazing opportunity to work alongside Laura Guido-Clark and her team of volunteers transforming oft-times desolate, low-income areas with "random acts of color".
My whole family got in on the fractalized graphics exploding on the Cambridge Elementary School in Concord, CA
Gallagher & Associates
While living on the east coast from 2004 - 2007, I supported the design staff at Gallagher & Associates (a museum planning and exhibit design firm) as a concept sketch artist over a period of two years - sketches ranged from extremely simple black and white studies to refined full color renderings.
McCall Design Group
The Flo Room was able to streamline its style for McCall. They had a specific appraoch in mind which was desired by their client, William Sonoma, Inc. - an extremely simplified black and white line drawing.
This same technique was applied to another interesting project: dozens of sketch studies were done for all the departmental worlds within the Texas Superstore H.E.B.
KI Design
High profile style icon and Chicago's go-to girl for the hippest restaurant in town, Katherine Ingrassia, spearheads this studio whose specialization in dining chic is becoming epic.
The Flo Room has produced dozens of sketches for them over the years.
Barker / Nestor and Associates
An Architectural Group specializing in restaurants. The Flo Room has had the honor of working on numerous projects with them, notably the sprinkling of Harry Caray's throughout the Chicagoland area.
Through the Garden Wall
Fran and I worked together on the ArTech Building, anchoring the Arts District downtown Berkeley at the corner of Addison and Milvia. You can see two of her gorgeous stone mosaics embedded into the pedestrian facade - a mountain lion and an egret.
Her expertise as an artistan, along with her fully equipped studio, help to support FloWear production.
Amidst many accomplishments, her work is currently represented on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
Sitar Arts Center
FloWear sales helped to support the Center. The glass jewelry sold in their retail store, Pat's Place.
The Washington Glass School
I began working with reclaimed glass in 2004 at the WGS and continued my investigations with their mentoring up until 2007.
Panoramic Interests
PI is an urban infill architectural development firm based out of San Francisco today. Patrick Kennedy is always at the forefront of controversy when it comes to residential and commercial space development. His latest proposal MicroPAD is "micro-housing" for the homeless in SF.
I worked as a design consultant for him from 1998 - 2003. Patrick launched his business in Berkeley in the mid 90s.
